libmpd1 software package provides High-level client library for accessing Music Player Daemon, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libmpd1
libmpd1 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libmpd1 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libmpd1 *
You will get with libmpd1 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
